Vantrez Grant was charged with beating a woman and setting her home on fire. We aren't going to screen capture every one of his offenses, but his prior history is evident in this summary. Most of his offenses were for forgery or grand larceny, both felonies. His victim has no record in Charleston County. The numbers beginning with the letter "W" are probation violations. A total of sixteen offenses since 2001, most of them felonies, and he was still walking our streets and free to beat a woman and set a fire.

This makes me angry. Criminals who should have been locked up numerous times are free to walk the streets. Why even have a judicial system? Instead of health care reform, maybe the judicial system needs reform. Who can we contact to show our displeasure at such blatant disregard to the safety of law abiding citizens?
ReplyDeleteThe position of Solicitor is an elected office. The time for change is during the election. It is a constitutional office, so only the Governor can remove a solicitor (we think). Until such time as an election in progress, exposing the flaws in the system in a very public way is the best we can do.
