Syquone Alexander Moody

Syquone Alexander Moody goes by the name of "Fetti Stacka Smasha" on Facebook. Syquone has lived in Summerville and North Charleston in the past. He is currently incarcerated at Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville, SC on a conviction for second offense distribution of crack cocaine out of Dorchester County. Syquone is also posting to his Facebook account via cell phone. Moody doesn't post much, but considering he has been in prison since 2009 he shouldn't be posting at all. He posted a new picture, taken with a cell phone, on 28 March, 2012.

Syquone Moody is another example of our ineffective court system here in the Lowcountry. Let's follow his criminal path through the years.

18 February, 2003 he was arrested for Armed Robbery. The charge was dismissed a month later by a preliminary hearing judge who deemed the police lacked sufficient probable cause to arrest him.

11 August, 2004. Moody was arrested for Distribution of Ecstasy, Distribution of Crack Cocaine, Distribution of Crack Cocaine Near a School, and Distribution of Ecstasy Near a School. All four charges were later dismissed by the solicitor's office.

August 9th, 2005 brought charges of Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, and Distribution of Crack Cocaine Near a School. Moody was allowed to plead guilty to the possession charge and the solicitor's office dismissed the more serious distribution charges. He was sentenced to two years in prison by Judge Hughston, but only had to serve two months and the balance of the sentence was suspended.

On March 2nd, 2006 Moody was charged with another armed robbery. The solicitor's office let this one pend until 2010 when they chose not to prosecute the case. We are willing to be their reasoning was, "He's already in prison, so why bother."

Nine months after the armed robbery arrest, Moody was charged with indecent exposure. This charge was dismissed at the preliminary hearing because the officer failed to show up.

Note: All of the above charges were dealt with by the 9th Circuit Solicitor - Charleston County.

On 17 January, 2008 Moody was arrested yet again and charged with being a habitual traffic offender, distribution of crack cocaine 3rd offense, distribution of crack cocaine near a school, and 1st offense possession of cocaine. All of these charges were dismissed by the solicitor's office in January of 2009. These charges were the responsibility of the 1st Circuit Solicitor - Dorchester County. We failed to find the offense for which Moody is currently incarcerated. We suspect it IS one of the four listed below based on the disposition date and the date he was imprisoned at Evans Correctional Institute.

Once again we see the flawed justice system in the Lowcountry for what it really is - a revolving door that police officers shove people into and the solicitors and judges push them right back out. How scary is that?

Syquone Alexander Moody is due to be released in August of 2015. Is there anyone who doubts he will return to his chosen fields of narcotics distribution and armed robbery?
