Note to Independent and Republican Politicians

Seriously, guys and gals. If you aren't a Democrat, whether you are white or black, stop wasting time speaking to the National Association Advocating for Criminal People. You know you are wasting your time, we know you are wasting your time and they know you are wasting your time.

  1. Dear CTL,

I was turned on to your site several weeks ago by a friend. I think I have now read every post you've made on your blog and my reaction to what I've learned is the name that I've chosen for my handle here. Our justice system (judges and solicitor's office both) have continually failed in their efforts to keep these low-life, system-abusing, pieces of shit off of the streets OR to help keep the 99% of us law-abiding citizens safe from ridiculous people.

So, the question is this: how do you suggest that we, the people, effect real change in this miserably failed system? Obviously, the main stream media isn't going to be much help. They only print what they deem newsworthy, at least it seems that way to me. I believe that our judges are appointed. Our solicitor is elected (and running this year) but I'm sure she'll pull some crap out of her hat like she did last time (see Sean Shevlino's case) to make it look like she's keeping us safe. What the hell can we do?

By the way, thanks for your efforts, which I'm sure are very time consuming, in letting us know about what is really happening in our community and beyond. We, the people, deserve to know the truth and not the whitewashed version that the MSM is feeding us.

    Keep up the great work!

  2. The Sean Shevlino case was a HUGE screw over and I cannot believe she got away with it. While I agree he deserved to be punished, it is mind blowing he got 10 years and these useless pieces of crap are in and out of the jails, (sometimes even the next day) for worse charges. The judges have to accept these deals, they also are the ones setting the low bonds, reducing bonds, giving suspended sentences, probation for violating probation, and the list of STUPID so called punishment for breaking the law continues and that is only if Wilson doesn't drop or reduce the charges and they go before a judge. Wilson won't have to pull any hard ball stunts this year, she will win her election again because no one is running against her. Can't say I blame them, who would want to walk into that office of shame. They would have to fire everyone and start over, which in my humble opinion is exactly what needs to happen. The state of SC and the county of Charleston needs to boot her out of there and put someone with balls and backbone in there that is not afraid to uphold the law and not to lazy to actually work. The woman is a JOKE.

    1. Sean Shevlino and Michael Anthony were nothing more than insurance that she would get elected.... They were made examples of because they were spoiled, privileged brats (So Ms. Wilson and the local media would have us all believe!) from Mt. Pleasant. It was the most blatant abuse of power and misuse of law that I have have ever seen!

    2. Very true. It almost seems as if the black suspects are given break after break because the solicitor is afraid she will be called a racist, while white defendants get hammered.

    3. Michael Anthony is a black male. These kids could've been green and it wouldn't have made a difference.

  3. Judges are the responsibility of politicians sitting in the statehouse. They appoint them and they can get rid of them. On several prior occasions we have suggested a flood of letters, e-mails and phone calls in an effort to get things changed.

Solicitors are elected by the people. Only we can change what is going on in those offices. We can think of one problem with that model, which is set by the state Constitution. We suffer from a lack of viable candidates. Think about it. Why would a successful attorney, making well into six figures, want to leave his/her practice to pick up a government paycheck?
