Antwone Smith Arrested

Antwone Montail Smith, wanted for shooting a fellow thug in the ass outside of a downtown "barber" shop has been arrested. He is charged with 1st Degree Assault & Battery and has a $50,000 bond set by Judge Baldwin.

Shall we conduct a review of his Charleston County criminal history? We shall.

2004 Charges:

Distribution of Crack - pled down to Possession of Cocaine by the 9th Circuit Solicitor. Sentenced by Judge Thomas Hughston under YOA to a term not to exceed one to two years, suspended in favor of two years of probation.

PWID Crack Near a School - you already know - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.

PWID Crack and another PWID Crack Near a School - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.

2008 Charges:

PWID Cocaine - Pled guilty - sentenced by Judge Roger Young to seven years in prison.

Possession of Crack and 2nd Offense Possession of Marijuana - Dismissed by the 9th Circuit Solicitor.

Let's see - 2008 plus 7 years equals 2015. Is anyone else wondering why Smith was running the streets in January of 2012 and able to put a bullet in the ass of a fellow thug, raising the City of Charleston's violent crime index as a result?

  1. So why is he out?

This is an example of why our justice system is overloaded with B.S. Consider:
PWID Crack, reduced to Cocaine. One is as bad as the other, so stop screwing around and get the case to trial. If he's guilty, have the judge sentence him.

The 'near a school' clause is absolute crap. I don't care where it's being sold, it's equally illegal in front of a school, in front of a church building, in front of a whore house. Bust him, try him and have the judge sentence him.

The pot bust is a waste of time and paperwork. I wouldn't care if he smokes a pound a day, so long as he does it at home, away from the rest of society. If not, bust him for being drunk (or under the influence) and disorderly in public, try him and sentence him. Make damned sure he's being disorderly, not just hammered.

Shooting another thug in the ass? I don't know. I'd be real, real tempted to let that one slide. He's taking another thug off the street for time, which is more than the Judge has been able to do. Rough justice, I say.
